We had a ball at the Omaha Zoo on Saturday! We noticed upon our arrival that weather.com was a bit off on its prediction for the day. We were going to be very chilly! Allison was fine, but Scott and I had to purchase jackets right away. :) Our favorite spots at the zoo were the penguins, the really cool aquarium, the tigers and the butterfly house.
Before walking into the butterfly house we were given some rules to follow. One of the rules was to not reach out for the butterflies- you might hurt them. I didn't notice until we were about halfway through the house, but Allison was holding her hands behind her back the whole time. When we got out I asked her about it and she said, "I didn't want to hurt any of the butterflies, so I kept my hands behind my back!" :)
I guess Allison wasn't as excited about our trip? :)
Allison and Mommy enjoying the aquarium
Allison asked us to "act like fish". I really have to give Daddy the prize here for the best fish! :)
Allison is having a talk with the penguins
We're inside the butterfly house. If you look closely you can see Allison in the background with her hands behind her back. :)
Daddy asked us to make scary faces. Grrrr!
Oh my- she sure had fun playing on the lions!
Sweet face, huh?

It's so awesome to see you guys together. Scott did indeed win the prize for best fish, but Allison had me cracking up with the penguin talk. I could hear her saying, "Peace. Be Still!" ;-)
What a fun family day! I have Omaha Zoo on our list of places to visit. Now we know what exhibits to go to first!
We love the Omaha Zoo too. We go once/year. We especially love the aquarium and penguin exhibits.
I love the picture of Allison with her Nebraska shirt on. She could easily be a Nebraska girl!
I am sooo hoping you move here some day!
that looks like tons of fun!! thanks for all the great pictures!!
I am soooo bummed we couldn't meet you guys there! We LOVE the zoo and go all the time - you will just have to come back this summer with BOTH your kiddos and do it again! :)

It makes me smile (and laugh at the same time) that you and Scott are willing to be silly for Allison in public! What a wonderful family trip!
